O que é Devoção? Deixando para trás todas as questões relativas, quando a mente se volta em direção ao Absoluto, isso por si mesmo quer significar Devoção. Quando a mente se volta em direção ao Espírito Supremo, quanto mais se aproxima começa a acontecer uma mudança não-perceptível. A lagarta não sabe quando se tornará uma borboleta. A mente não sabe como as mudanças acontecem em si. Portanto, acontece o dia em que a mente percebe que não mais é um ser individual e que seus sentimentos individualistas desapareceram. Quando a mente se liberta dos sentimentos individualistas, isso por si só já é o Estado Supremo.

Now what is devotion? Leaving all the relative things, when mind moves
toward the Absolute, that alone is known as Devotion. When the mind moves
toward the Supreme Soul, the nearer it comes to Him, there is an unknowing
change in it. The caterpillar does not know when it becomes a butterfly. The
mind does not know how changes occur in it. Thus, one day it sees that it is no
longer an individual being and hence the individualistic feeling disappears.
When the mind is free from individualistic feelings, that alone is the Supreme
State.
